Position Summary
Forever Clean is seeking an experienced A-Level Heavy Equipment & Fleet Technician to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, advanced diagnostics, repairs, and fabrication on a diverse fleet of front-load refuse trucks, automated side loaders, roll-off trucks, hook lift trucks, tractor-trailers, service vehicles, and other heavy-duty equipment.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled technician who can independently diagnose and repair complex hydraulic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, brake, suspension, steering, and pneumatic systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, steering, suspension, brake systems, HVAC, and driveline components.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems including pumps, PTOs, valves, cylinders, hoists, compacting systems, lift arms, and hook lift mechanisms.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems including multiplex wiring, sensors, controllers, charging systems, lighting, and electronic controls.
- Utilize OEM diagnostic software and electronic scan tools to troubleshoot equipment.
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication using MIG, Stick, and oxy-acetylene equipment.
- Repair truck bodies, containers, hoists, structural components, and other fabricated assemblies.
- Perform DOT inspections and identify safety-related defects.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential equipment failures before they result in downtime.
- Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed.
- Maintain preventative maintenance records and repair documentation.
- Assist with emergency roadside repairs when necessary.
- Work closely with drivers and operations personnel to quickly resolve equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
- Mentor and assist less experienced technicians as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Five or more years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience preferred.
- Experience working on refuse trucks, vocational trucks, or heavy-duty commercial equipment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatic systems, and heavy truck diagnostics.
- Welding and fabrication experience required.
- Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical service manuals.
- Experience using computerized diagnostic software.
- Valid driver's license required.
- CDL Class A or B preferred or ability to obtain within an established timeframe.

- Cummins, Mack/Volvo, Allison, Eaton, Meritor, Pactech, Heil, Galbreath, or similar equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Advanced mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Strong hydraulic troubleshooting abilities.
- Welding and metal fabrication proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Stand, kneel, bend, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely operate shop equipment, forklifts, cranes, and service vehicles.
- Work occasional overtime and after-hours emergency repairs as business needs require.

Pay: $34.00 - $40.00 per hour
