Position Overview:
The Donut Baker is responsible for preparing and producing a variety of artisan donuts, including yeasted and cake varieties, glazes, fillings, and toppings. This role requires consistency, efficiency, and a high attention to detail to maintain our high standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, mix, proof, and fry or bake various types of donut doughs.
- Hand-cut or mold donuts to spec, maintaining consistency in shape and size.
- Make glazes, icings, fillings, and toppings from scratch using premium ingredients.
- Glaze and finish donuts with an eye for visual appeal and portion accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
- Follow all food safety and health guidelines, including allergen protocols.
- Assist with prep work for the following day (dough prep, mise en place, etc.).
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and test new flavor ideas.
- Open or close the kitchen depending on the shift.
- Communicate inventory needs to the Kitchen Manager or Lead Baker.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery preferred, especially in bread, pastries, or donuts.
- Knowledge of basic baking techniques and familiarity with kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.
- Strong time management skills; able to work efficiently under pressure.
- Comfortable working early morning hours (shifts typically start between 2am–5am).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a passion for quality.
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
