Position Summary
The ISO/ International Intermodal Container driver will transport the ISO container to customer sites and return the container to the company facility when empty. Duties will include regular utilization of the truck scale to verify and record weight, in line with company policy and DOT standards. The position will also include the operation of various pieces of machinery on and off-site to move equipment/ trailers, including a crane and trailer mover.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Deliver the full ISO container to customer sites and returning the empty ISO container.
- Operate the truck scale and record the weight of the ISO container, as per company standards.
- Regularly operate the facilities crane and trailer mover (i.e., Trailer Caddy) to transport the ISO container to the planned location.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of trucks and trailers, ensuring the safety of transportation.
- This position requires the ability to work weekend shifts.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Driver must have the HAZMAT/TANKER Endorsement.
- Driver must have 2-years minimum CDL-A Experience.
- Driver must have a Valid Medical Certification card.
- Drivers must be registered with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse, Federal requirement (Driver can register at the time we need to run the query).
- Drivers must be able to be insurable through our insurance company (cannot be history of major driving/ moving violations).
- Driver must consent to a pre-employment driving test
- We operate Automatic Volvo trucks; Drivers with a Restricted License for Automatics are qualified candidates.
- The ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Ability to shift priorities quickly maintaining attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Over the Road (OTR) experience, Local Tanker experience, and /or OTR Tanker experience.
- HAZMAT Transportation experience.
- Experience moving Containers on chassis equipment or Tanks with Port Chassis equipment.
