Description:
Responsible for properly preparing parts for shipment by following established procedures to ensure accuracy of counts and safe arrival of parts to Customer or Supplier.

Compare paperwork, tags, and other identifying information on parts and ensure all operations are completed and approved

Physically count or weigh count parts to record the quantity on labels, cartons, paperwork, or tags as required

Inspect parts for damage to ensure parts meet specifications

Report to Supervisor any shortages or damaged parts and red tag parts with quality issues

Prepare parts for shipment into containers, using spacers, fillers, protective padding, or protective wrap to ensure parts are transported without damage

Affix appropriate shipping labels, packing slips and BOLs to containers, as required

Record container, dimensions and packaging instructions upon job completion for Supervisor if procedures are not already established

Notify supervisor of shipping material and supply needs

Operate lift truck or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist parts to and from staging, storage and work areas

Load vehicles for shipping and may assist unloading vehicles for receiving

Accurately record packing activities in data collection system including quantity packed, inventory/bin locations and quality issues, if any

Follow all safety procedures and wear safety equipment or apparel as required

Perform all job functions to meet acceptable quality and performance standards

Ensure on a daily basis that work area is clean and orderly

Use office equipment including but not limited to: copier, scanner, computer, printers, and telephone/paging system
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 6 months of warehouse/logistics related education or work experience

Mathematical and numeric accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous work experience in metal manufacturing

Forklift certification
-
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
- Exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently

Frequently required to sit, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms

Ability to communicate with others and accommodation as required to listen to equipment and monitor paging system

Accommodation as required for reading documents and computer screens
Working Conditions:
Typical metal manufacturing environment with exposure to powder coat paint facility. Primarily active factory work that involves walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
