Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Sort, rinse, and organize dishes and kitchenware for efficient storage and reuse.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks when needed, including handling ingredients and supporting the culinary team.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, floors, and storage spaces, following sanitation standards.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and removing used dishes from dining areas promptly.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to manual handling and kitchen equipment operation to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Assist in maintaining overall sanitation of the kitchen environment to meet restaurant health standards.
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety management and sanitation procedures.
- Experience with dishwashing machines and manual cleaning techniques.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when moving large pots, trays, or boxes of supplies.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and restaurant hygiene standards.
- Basic knife skills for supporting food prep activities when required.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning tools.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen environment.
- Prior experience in food service or hospitality settings is preferred but not required; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential.
