About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting, payroll, and HR administrative functions of a well-established professional services firm in Augusta, GA. This is a hands-on position that plays a vital role in the financial health and daily operations of the organization.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys working in a collaborative office environment, and can confidently manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the company's books and financial records.
- Manage accounts payable, review invoices, and ensure timely payments.
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage payroll tax filings and year-end reporting, including W-2s and applicable 1099s.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and retirement deductions.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and maintain employee personnel files.
- Track PTO, vacation, sick leave, and holiday balances.
- Process workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
- Ensure compliance with payroll, employment, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Assist with general office administration and support leadership as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, controller, or office management experience.
- Experience processing payroll and payroll tax filings.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with employee benefits administration and HR recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential financial and personnel information with discretion.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Experience:
- QuickBooks: 2 years (Preferred)
