Join OrthoVirginia's Interventional Pain Management team and use your nursing expertise to help patients manage chronic pain, improve mobility, and get back to the activities that matter to them.
As a PRN Registered Nurse in our Pain Management Suite, you'll work alongside experienced pain management physicians and clinical team members to care for patients before, during, and after minimally invasive procedures. You'll play an important role in patient safety and comfort—from preparing patients and administering moderate sedation to monitoring recovery and providing post-procedure education.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN who enjoys procedural nursing, close collaboration with physicians, and providing focused one-on-one patient care.

PRN commitment: Minimum of 20 hours per month

Shift length: 10-hour shifts

Schedule: Shifts are scheduled within the 6:30 AM–5:30 PM operating window, with start and end times varying based on procedural volume and patient care needs.

Location: This role floats between OrthoVirginia's Westchester and St. Mary’s locations based on coverage needs.

Prepare patients for procedures: Review medical records, obtain vital signs, start IVs, and administer fluids or medications as appropriate.

Support interventional procedures: Assist with spinal injections and other minimally invasive pain management procedures.

Administer and monitor moderate sedation: Closely monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms while maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

Provide post-procedure care: Monitor patients during recovery from sedation, assess patient status, and provide appropriate nursing care through discharge.

Use strong clinical judgment: Quickly recognize changes in patient condition, respond appropriately, and communicate effectively with physicians and the clinical team.

Educate and reassure patients: Explain procedures and post-procedure expectations and provide clear instructions for recovery, pain management, and follow-up care.

Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program.

Current Registered Nurse license.

Current ACLS certification required.

At least 2 years of relevant nursing experience.

Previous experience administering and monitoring moderate sedation.

Proficiency in cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation.

Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient safety.

Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a procedural environment.

Compensation Range for this position:
$38.85 - $58.27
