POSITION SUMMARY:
Functions as an Administrative Assistant, performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks primarily under the direction of Department Director. Responsibilities include accurate entry of fiscal, program, and contract information into Department databases; creation, analysis, interpretation, and follow-up of Veteran reports; maintaining effective relationships with Department staff and veterans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides clerical and office support, including redirecting calls, preparing and submitting correspondence, sorting and distributing department mail, updating department calendars and ordering office supplies and service for agency equipment.

Creates, analyzes, and interprets reports on Department activities. Notifies Staff and director of significant state and federal law changes.

Maintains and updates agency records as necessary.

Conducts bi-weekly payroll.

Works cooperatively with other
Administrative assistant completes these additional tasks within the Department:
Personnel:

Collects and executes all county, state, Civil Service and union required personnel actions under the direction of department staff.

Files and submits burial reimbursement requests as needed.

Prepares county payroll reports and distributes paychecks to employees.

Prepares and updates agency organizational chart.
Fiscal:

Corresponds with Controllers and finance personnel regarding account information as necessary.

Submits check requests, donation checks, cash donations and any fiscal needs to the appropriate departments.

Conduct journal entries as needed.

- Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a two year college or university, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and ability to learn as technology develops.
