About the role
Platinum Security Service is seeking a professional and dependable Roving Security Officer to provide dispatch-based emergency response at multiple residential properties.
The officer will travel to assigned locations to address unsecured entrances, after-hours amenity violations, temporary security coverage, and other conditions requiring an on-site security presence. The officer must remain available throughout the shift and is expected to arrive within 30 minutes of dispatch, subject to traffic, distance, weather, and other emergency conditions.
What you will do
- Remain available throughout the assigned shift and promptly acknowledge all dispatch calls.
- Travel to designated properties and provide status updates while responding.
- Respond to unsecured storefront, lobby, service, or exterior doors.
- Inspect affected areas for damage, unauthorized access, suspicious activity, or safety concerns.
- Maintain a visible security presence when a door or entrance cannot be immediately secured.
- Contact the appropriate supervisor, property representative, locksmith, maintenance provider, or emergency service.
- Respond to after-hours amenity-space violations and professionally direct residents and guests to leave closed areas.
- Provide temporary security or concierge coverage when an assigned employee is absent or delayed.
- Verify reported conditions and inspect entrances, common areas, amenity spaces, package areas, garages, and building perimeters as directed.
- Observe and report property damage, leaks, alarms, hazardous conditions, unauthorized persons, or suspicious activity.
- Protect building keys, access credentials, equipment, and confidential property information.
- Complete an incident or dispatch report for every response, including dispatch time, arrival time, observations, actions taken, photographs when required, and final resolution.
- Follow all PBS policies, property post orders, and client-specific procedures.
What it takes to be successful
- Valid New York State Security Guard Registration Card.
- Completion of all required New York State security training.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Prior residential, commercial, concierge, mobile patrol, or security experience preferred.
- Strong judgment, communication, reporting, and conflict-de-escalation skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond calmly during urgent situations.
- Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: $23.00 per hour
