Medical Assistant — Hill Country Allergy & Asthma (Lakeway)
Pay: From $16.00/hour
Job Type: Full-time, 36–40 hours/week. No on-call, no nights, no weekends.
About the Role
Hill Country Allergy & Asthma is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Lakeway location. We're looking for someone who's genuinely curious about the "why" behind symptoms — someone who's interested in integrative approaches to health and understands that chronic inflammation sits at the root of a lot of what we treat. If you like connecting the dots between what a patient eats, how they live, and how they feel, you'll fit right in here.
What You'll Do
- Room patients, take vitals, and review medical history and current medications
- Prep patients for exams and procedures
- Perform prick and intradermal allergy testing, documenting results in eClinicalWorks
- Administer immunotherapy injections and document each shot (Rosch Visionary)
- Support providers and front desk staff with day-to-day patient care
- Follow OSHA guidelines, including universal precautions and sharps disposal
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a related role
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver's license and car insurance
- Solid grasp of medical terminology and exam/testing/injection room procedures
- Clear communicator who stays calm under pressure and builds real rapport with patients
- Self-starter who takes initiative, welcomes feedback, and looks for ways to improve how things run
- A genuine interest in integrative medicine, inflammation, and root-cause approaches to allergy and immune health is a strong plus
- Familiarity with peptides, supplements, and overall integrative practices is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Full range of motion, including lifting up to 30 lbs
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Manual dexterity for computer, phone, copier, and fax use
- Occasional irregular hours or stressful conditions
