The Materials Handler may work on a variety of tasks depending on the department assigned. Assignments may include the following; Receiving: unload and load trucks manually; Production: support material movement in production areas, accurately count product, use RF to enter data into Warehouse Management System; Fulfillment: count and pick customer orders in fulfillment areas. This position requires lifting up to 50 lbs continuously throughout the scheduled shift. This is a safety sensitive position that uses electric pallet jacks. This position works in a wide range of temperatures depending on department (0*, 32* - 75*).
- Use RF gun/scanner to input data into Warehouse Management System, stage and scan outbound pallets and racks to warehouse, process returns/overages/unused materials back to warehouse, scan Handling Unit labels and confirm quantity of picks.
- Labeling/bar-coding per SOP and receive to Production area via EWM using RF devices.
- Accurately prepare, count, and record inventory transactions using RF devices.
- Maintains a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment.
- Execute pallet-to-line moves with electric or manual pallet jacks.
- Perform directed cycle counts of floor stock; report damages, shorts, and lot issues.
- Ensure quality assurance and vendor compliance specifications are met.
- Support the shipping line with a constant flow of product or removal.
- Perform pre-shift stretching exercises (5-10 minutes).
- Adhere to all safety, food-safety, and sanitation requirements; support audit readiness.
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma, GED Certificate or equivalent work-related experience is preferred.
- Some previous work-related experience preferred but not required.
- Reading and math skills (counting, adding and subtracting) required.
- Ability to read English and distinguish letters and numbers at a fast pace.
- Performing physical activities that require use of hands/wrist, walking, bending, balancing, twisting reaching, lifting a minimum of 50 pounds (less 10% of time) and standing for full shifts.
- Will be working in dust noise and varied temperatures (36˚- 85˚).
