Full-Time VPK Aide/Afternoon Closer
Schedule:
Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Job Overview:
We are seeking a RELIABLE and experienced VPK Aide (9 am-12 pm), Floater/Closer (1-6 pm) to support daily operations and assist with center leadership when needed. This role is critical to maintaining ratios, supervising staff, supporting classrooms, and ensuring a smooth and compliant close to the day.
The ideal candidate is organized, confident, flexible, and able to step into multiple roles when staffing needs arise.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the VPK classroom to meet ratios.
- Assist the Director with afternoon operations and closing procedures
- Ensure classrooms remain in ratio and compliant with DCF regulations
- Support and supervise staff during afternoon transitions
- Step into classrooms as needed to cover staff absences
- Assist with diapering, pottying, meals, cleaning, and supervision
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional environment
- Communicate effectively with staff and leadership
- Follow and enforce center policies and procedures
Requirements:
- MUST BE 21+, PER DCF
- Must meet DCF training requirements, plus 5-hour Early Literacy completed with 1 year.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or equivalent REQUIRED
- Must be willing to be cross-trained in all positions within the center
- Ability to fill in for other staff members when necessary
- Strong supervision and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Professional demeanor and ability to lead by example
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role in childcare
- Strong knowledge of DCF licensing standards
- Experience working with multiple age groups

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
