Job Summary
We are seeking a warm, friendly, professional and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our Practice. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare providers, ensuring smooth clinic operations through exceptional administrative support. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system, Athenahealth, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, including Medicare and health insurance knowledge, and process medical collections accurately.
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Handle phone communication with professionalism, addressing patient inquiries, appointment scheduling, and care plan coordination with clarity and courtesy.
- Review medical documentation for accuracy, ensuring proper billing procedures are followed.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) system for efficient data entry and record management.
- Support medical office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless clinic operations while adhering to healthcare policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with front desk responsibilities.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Athenahealth.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance processes including Medicare billing.
- Excellent patient service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to review medical documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Prior Primary Care experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing tasks.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
