General Description:
Under the supervision of the Shelter Manager, the House Monitor assists residents with daily tasks and assists in maintaining the physical aspects of our 24 hour domestic violence emergency shelter.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Foster a safe, calm, and therapeutic environment for residents
- Answer and document hotline calls
- Conduct ground checks
- Ensure resident guidelines are followed
- Notify management of any maintenance needs
- Notify management In the event of an emergency
- Attend meetings and trainings as needed
- Document inventory and identify food pantry needs
- Respond to emergency situations as needed
- Ensure billing forms are complete and signed
- Transport residents in agency vehicle to appointments
- Read/document daily updates in shelter communication book
- Complete mandated reports including incident reports, accident reports, and grievances
- Work collaboratively with clients to ensure household tasks and chores are completed
- Ensure shared workspaces and offices are neat and clean
- Other tasks as assigned
Successful candidates should have the availability to work overnight shifts (12:00 AM - 8:00 AM)
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence is preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
