Duties
- Conduct comprehensive engine diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues within powertrain systems.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and electrical system schematics to troubleshoot complex electrical problems efficiently.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle transmission systems, including manual and automatic transmissions, ensuring smooth operation and longevity.
- Perform vehicle suspension system repairs and alignments to enhance ride quality and handling performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble engine components with precision.
- Collaborate with team members to perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including diesel engine repairs and general automotive service tasks.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining diagnostic findings clearly and recommending necessary repairs or maintenance to clients.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or service shop experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, with a focus on engine diagnostics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of powertrain components, vehicle systems, and suspension mechanisms.
- Proficiency in automotive electrical systems, wiring diagram interpretation, and use of diagnostic tools such as scan tools or oscilloscopes.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle transmission repair, diesel engine troubleshooting, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar brands is a plus; however, broad automotive repair experience is essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with technical proficiency in automotive diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment in a fast-paced environment.
