Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up assessments across assigned healthcare facilities.
- Perform thoughtful psychiatric assessments to clarify diagnoses and identify psychiatric, behavioral, cognitive, and psychosocial factors impacting patient care.
- Provide psychiatric consultation, evaluation, and ongoing treatment services within healthcare facility settings.
- Provide evidence-based medication management and treatment recommendations tailored to individual patient needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans designed to improve psychiatric stability, quality of life, and overall patient outcomes.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and clinical excellence.
- Partner with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, and facility leadership to support comprehensive patient care and continuity of services.
- Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and payer requirements.
- Serve as a trusted psychiatric resource for facility staff by promoting best practices, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care.
- Contribute to a culture of compassion, integrity, collaboration, and continuous clinical improvement.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric assessment, psychopharmacology, medication management, and evidence-based treatment planning for adult patients across diverse clinical settings.
- Comfortable adapting to various electronic health record (EHR) platforms utilized across healthcare facilities while maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Approach each patient encounter with curiosity, clinical rigor, and a commitment to diagnostic accuracy, recognizing that thoughtful assessment is the foundation of effective psychiatric care.

Candidates should possess:
- Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner License
- PMHNP Certification Preferred
- DEA Registration Preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Professionalism, reliability, and sound clinical judgment
- Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, crisis services, geriatric psychiatry, rehabilitation, long-term care, skilled nursing, or facility-based settings preferred
