Build customer relationships: ensure prompt, positive, and professional assistance to all customers, whether in-store, on the phone or digitally across all departments (paint & decorating). Understand customer requirements through effective questioning and attentive listening. Offer comprehensive assistance and advice to customers, across all product lines and services offered by Grauer’s.
Order Processing: complete customer orders accurately and efficiently, including order taking, mixing paint to customer specifications, provide precise color matches for custom colors and competitor colors alike ensuring timely delivery or pickup.
Be inspiring to customers, be willing to offer new ideas, share up and coming trends and new products by utilizing suggestive selling techniques by identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell complementary products such as brushes, rollers, primers, wallpaper and window treatments to enhance the customer's project. Look for ways to add value, simplify the process etc.
Assist in carrying customer/contractor purchases to their vehicle
Provide sales leads to Outside Sales Representatives for paint/decorating, for example: new contractors, potential new customers, designers, window treatments, special pricing, accounts with opportunities for growth etc.
During downtime to boost sales, assist with pursuing new business opportunities and account growth by targeting both new and existing customers. This may involve phone calls and in-store engagement to expand our customer base and strengthen relationships.
Flexibility to deliver paint on an as needed basis
Decorating Department: Color - help customers with color selections, maintain colorchips, brochures, fan decks. Wallpaper - book loans, ordering and receiving wallpaper orders, customer notifications, occasional returns etc. Window Treatments - assist customer with general questions and get them in the hands of a window treatment specialist for at home visit, customer notifications etc, assist with blind repairs - packaging/shipping, install/uninstalling treatment
Store Maintenance: participate in maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment inside and out. Performing routine tasks such as filling tint machines, sweeping floors, dusting, facing shelves, cleaning bathrooms, trash etc.
Training and Development: Participating in training programs to stay updated on new products, techniques, and industry trends. Continuously improving product knowledge and customer service skills.
Personal Presentation: Present a professional, neat appearance and maintain a good attendance record.

Physical Stamina: Willingness and ability to lift 50 pounds, move heavy paint cans/ other merchandise, position themselves to move such as stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, turn, bend, reach, pull, crawl, ascend or descend ladders as well as stand for extended periods of time etc.
