Job Summary
The Business Development will be responsible for driving business growth among industrial clients, with a focus on RNA (oligonucleotides, siRNA, ASO) and protein/antibody CRO services.
This role is highly customer-facing and growth-oriented, targeting biotech, pharmaceutical, and industrial R&D customers. You will identify and develop new business opportunities, build long-term strategic partnerships, and work closely with technical, project, and operations teams to convert customer needs into successful commercial engagements.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Lead business development activities for RNA or protein/antibody CRO services, focusing on industrial clients.
2. Identify and build a robust pipeline of target clients, develop a prioritized customer visit plan, and actively pursue new business opportunities while fostering strong relationships with existing clients.
3. Understand customer R&D pipelines and outsourcing needs, and translate them into actionable BD opportunities and deal strategies.
4. Provide market and competitive intelligence, including customer feedback, pricing trends, and emerging industry needs.
5. Support company branding and market presence through industry conferences, trade shows, and targeted BD events.
6. Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline and forecast updates to management.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction, and assist with other tasks as assigned by the company or department.
Job Requirements:
1. Master’s degree or above in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related life science fields.
2. Proven track record in business development or key account management with industrial biotech or pharmaceutical clients.
3. Strong understanding of industrial R&D workflows, outsourcing models, and CRO engagement processes.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Work Location: San Diego, Remote
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
