Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations
- Support monthly and annual closing processes
- Monitor contract and grant budgets, track expenditures, and identify variances
- Ensure financial transactions comply with GAAP and funding requirements
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
- Prepare financial reports and projections (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Research discrepancies and support audit readiness
Qualifications
- Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger support
- Prior experience in a nonprofit or government-funded environment is a plus
- Knowledge of GAAP principles
- Experience assisting with budget tracking (grants/contracts preferred)
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, data reporting)
- Familiarity with accounting systems; Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT is a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
