Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Part-Time IT & Network Support Technician to provide on-site and remote technical support for our office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining computer systems, LAN infrastructure, routers, switches, IP phones, cabling, and Internet connectivity. The technician will troubleshoot network issues, coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and ensure minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN network infrastructure.
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e/Cat6 network cables.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain:
- Routers
- Managed and unmanaged switches
- Wireless access points
- Firewalls (basic configuration)
- Troubleshoot and maintain IP phones and VoIP systems.
- Diagnose network connectivity, DHCP, DNS, gateway, and Internet issues.
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity problems.
- Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISP) when Internet service is down or degraded.
- Replace and configure defective networking equipment.
- Perform firmware updates on network devices when required.
- Maintain backup and documentation of network configurations.
- Provide remote support using remote desktop tools.
- Respond to emergency technical issues outside regular working hours when needed.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and networking hardware.
- Recommend improvements to enhance network reliability and security.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
- Experience with:
- Routers
- Network switches
- Wireless networking
- DHCP
- DNS
- VLANs (preferred)
- Experience troubleshooting Internet connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of LAN cable installation, testing, and repair.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 systems.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and email configuration.
- Experience troubleshooting printers and scanners.
- Knowledge of VoIP/IP phone systems (Yealink, Poly, Cisco, Grandstream, etc.).
- Familiarity with remote support tools such as AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or Remote Desktop.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in IT support or network administration.
- Certifications such as:
- CompTIA A+
- Network+
Working Hours
- Part-Time
- Approximately 10–20 hours per week (or as required).
- Availability for emergency support during Internet or network outages is preferred.
Pay: $27.63 - $33.28 per hour
