Position Overview
Our neurology clinical research site in Snellville, GA is seeking a licensed Pharmacist with investigational drug services and sterile preparation experience to support industry-sponsored neurology clinical trials, including double-blinded studies in generalized myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, CIDP, and other autoimmune neurological conditions.
This role is responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and accountability of investigational products (IP), including blinded study medications and infusion-based biologics. The Pharmacist will ensure compliance with study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, USP standards, and Georgia State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Investigational Product Preparation & Blinding
- Review study protocols and pharmacy manuals for dosing and preparation requirements
- Calculate, prepare, dilute, and dispense investigational products according to protocol
- Maintain strict blinding procedures for double-blinded and randomized trials
- Prepare IV biologics, monoclonal antibodies, and investigational agents as required
- Ensure sterile preparation in compliance with USP <797> and <800> (as applicable)
Drug Accountability & Compliance
- Maintain investigational drug accountability logs and temperature records (2–8°C refrigerated, -20°C and -80°C freezer storage)
- Ensure proper receipt, storage, handling, and destruction/return documentation of IP
- Participate in sponsor site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and audits
- Review and sign off on preparation and dispensing documentation
- Ensure compliance with GCP, FDA regulations, and institutional SOPs
Clinical & Research Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, research coordinators, and infusion staff
- Provide dosing clarification and protocol guidance when needed
- Support pharmacy feasibility assessments for new studies
- Manage emergency unblinding procedures per protocol
Qualifications
Required
- Active and unrestricted Georgia Pharmacist license
- Experience with sterile preparation and IV admixture
- Strong understanding of GCP and FDA regulatory standards
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
Preferred
- Clinical research or investigational drug services (IDS) experience
- Experience with double-blinded and randomized trial procedures, including IWRS/RTSM systems
- Experience preparing biologics, monoclonal antibodies, or infusion therapies (e.g., IVIG, complement inhibitors, FcRn antagonists)
- Familiarity with temperature-controlled and cold-chain drug management
- Experience in Phase I–III trials
