Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to service, repair, and maintain our fleet vehicles and equipment. This role involves hands-on work with diesel engines, transmissions, drive trains, hydraulics, and electrical systems across heavy-duty, medium-duty, and light-duty vehicles. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work independently while maintaining accurate service records.
Key Responsibilities:
Engine and Transmission Repair
Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel system components.
Service Class 8 trucks (Freightliner, Peterbilt, Mack, International), medium-duty, trailer, and light-duty vehicles.
Tune and maintain fleet engines and equipment, including forklifts, scissors lifts, hydraulics, and pumps.
Perform all types of engine, brake, drive train, electrical, and A/C repairs.
Fleet Maintenance and Record Keeping
Record all work orders.
Maintain accurate records of service, repair, and parts usage.
Use diagnostic programs and OEM resources for engines, hydraulic systems, and brake systems.
Equipment and Troubleshooting
Service machinery and mechanical equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairs.
Troubleshoot breakdowns and maintain operational readiness.
Ensure equipment operates efficiently by following instructions, maintaining supplies, and calling for external repairs when needed.
Regulatory Compliance
Qualifications:
Proficient with computer diagnostic software.
Ability to solve complex electrical problems and read electrical schematics.
Must be able to obtain DBIDS.
Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects, often exceeding 50 pounds.
Stamina to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
Ability to climb ladders or scaffolding and work under vehicles.
Personal tools required; large/specialty tools provided.
Willingness to travel locally for vehicle repairs if needed.
Welding knowledge preferred.
Strong independent work ethic and problem-solving skills.
