Restaurant Manager in Training
Turn Your Restaurant Experience into a Management Career
Are you an experienced restaurant team member, cook, trainer, shift leader, supervisor, or assistant manager who is ready for the next step?
Teriyaki One is looking for hardworking restaurant professionals who want to develop their leadership skills and grow into a Store Manager position.
Previous hands-on restaurant experience is required, but formal management experience is not required. We provide structured, on-the-job training in restaurant operations, team leadership, scheduling, inventory management, food and labor cost control, customer service, and food safety.
What Makes This Role Different
Our managers lead by example. This is a hands-on restaurant leadership position—not a primarily office-based role.
Managers work alongside the team, learn every station, and step in wherever support is needed. This opportunity is ideal for restaurant employees who want a clear path into management and are willing to learn, lead, and grow.
What You Will Do
- Work alongside the restaurant team and support daily operations.
- Learn and perform every station, including kitchen preparation, cooking, teppanyaki grill, sushi bar, cashier, and customer service.
- Help lead shifts, assign tasks, coach employees, and maintain a positive team environment.
- Support employee training, scheduling, labor planning, and timecard review.
- Assist with cash handling, inventory, ordering, FIFO rotation, waste control, and daily sales reporting.
- Maintain food quality, speed of service, cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with cleaning, stocking, opening, and closing procedures.
- Step into any station when additional operational support is needed.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous hands-on restaurant experience is required.
- Fast-food, quick-service, fast-casual, or high-volume restaurant experience is strongly preferred.
- Formal management experience is not required.
- Leadership potential and a strong desire to advance into management.
- Willingness to work alongside team members and lead by example.
- Dependable, hardworking, responsible, and positive attitude.
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math, computer, and POS system skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical and Schedule Requirements
This is a physically active restaurant management position. Candidates must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Repetitive food preparation, cooking, cashier, cleaning, and stocking duties.
- Bending, reaching, carrying, and moving restaurant supplies.
- Working around grills, fryers, refrigeration units, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
- Working in a fast-paced environment that may include heat, noise, and changing temperatures.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, opening shifts, and closing shifts.
This position is designed to give experienced restaurant employees a platform to advance into management.
Qualified employees who successfully complete the training program may be promoted to a Store Manager position based on performance, leadership readiness, available opportunities, and business needs.
