Operations & Preconstruction Manager
Sitko Inc. is an established construction management and electrical contracting firm serving commercial and high-end residential clients throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Southern Maine.
Our work includes commercial electrical construction, complex renovations, high-end residential projects, and construction management services.
We aren’t trying to be the biggest contractor in the market. We’re focused on being the company people call when they want the job handled properly — clear communication, accountability, quality work, and follow-through.
This Is Not a Typical Construction Management Position
We’re looking for one experienced construction professional to bring together responsibilities that are often divided between estimating, project management, operations, and business development.
This role combines operations, preconstruction, estimating, project management, client relationships, and business development into one leadership position working directly with the owner.
The person we hire will have a significant role in the day-to-day operation of the company and in how Sitko develops over the long term.
This is intended to become one of the key leadership positions within the company.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare estimates, budgets, proposals, and scopes of work
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements during preconstruction
- Lead projects from initial planning through completion and closeout
- Coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, materials, and project schedules
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and trade partners
- Participate in client meetings and help develop and secure new work
- Review job costs, budgets, billing, change orders, and project profitability
- Help plan manpower and allocate company resources
- Identify problems early and keep projects moving
- Improve company systems, workflows, and operational efficiency
- Work directly with the owner on day-to-day operations, planning, and company growth
Experience We’re Looking For
You do not need to have held this exact title before, but you should have substantial construction experience and a strong background in several of the following areas:
- Commercial construction project management
- Construction estimating
- Preconstruction
- Construction operations
- Business development and sales
- Client relationship management
- Budgeting and job-cost management
- Scheduling and manpower planning
- Team leadership
Electrical contracting experience is preferred, but not required.
Candidates with strong experience working for a construction manager, general contractor, electrical contractor, mechanical contractor, or other specialty trade contractor are encouraged to apply.
What We’re Looking For
Technical experience matters, but so does how you operate.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Takes ownership and follows through
- Understands priorities and does not need constant direction
- Is comfortable making decisions and accepting responsibility
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Builds trust with clients, employees, subcontractors, and vendors
- Can manage multiple projects and responsibilities without losing track of the details
- Identifies and solves problems rather than simply reporting them
- Understands that successful projects require attention to both execution and financial performance
- Wants to take on meaningful responsibility and help build a company for the long term
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $85,000–$130,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and the overall value brought to the position.
Benefits include:
- Health insurance
- Dental insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off
A company vehicle, laptop, phone, and performance-based incentives may also be included as part of the overall compensation package.
If you are an experienced construction professional who has been involved in more than one piece of the business and are looking for an opportunity to take on a broader leadership role, we encourage you to apply.
