Job Summary:
The Sales Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting and strengthening the sales team by driving accountability, visibility, and consistency across all sales activities. This position ensures alignment with company strategy, monitors performance, and identifies opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and experienced in supporting high-performing sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Operations & Performance
- Oversee daily sales operations for a team of approximately 8 sales professionals
- Monitor sales activity, pipeline, and performance metrics
- Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure alignment with company go-to-market strategy and sales processes
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as a liaison between sales, engineering, and customers
- Maintain visibility into customer engagement, including site visits and field activity
- Support collaboration across departments to improve efficiency and outcomes
Reporting & Strategy Support
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on performance data
- Support accountability by tracking follow-through on sales initiatives and priorities
- Help refine processes to improve overall sales effectiveness
Travel & Field Engagement
- Travel throughout the Midwest to stay connected with sales teams and customers
- Support field activity and maintain strong relationships across the region
Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience in sales operations, sales management, or business analysis
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions
- Ability to identify process gaps and implement improvements
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with sales and engineering teams
- Willingness to travel regionally throughout the Midwest
Preferred:
- Experience in technical or industrial environments
Working Conditions:
- Office and field-based role with regular regional travel
- Frequent use of computers, CRM systems, and reporting tools
