Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Provide compassionate care tailored to residents with dementia or memory care needs, employing behavior management techniques to promote comfort and safety
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining personal hygiene routines
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
- Document care activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and communicate effectively with healthcare teams about resident status
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent direct care credential
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care best practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care with empathy and professionalism
- Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic health monitoring techniques
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
