Location & Work Arrangement
Applicants must physically reside in the United States. This role is remote unless you live within 30 miles of a FlexTG office—then the role is hybrid (in office 3 days per week).
Salary Range
$110,000–$130,000, dependent on location and experience level.
Work Authorization

Position Summary
FlexTG is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to support the stability, performance, and security of our enterprise data platforms.
In this role, you will manage and optimize SQL Server environments (on-premises and Azure) as well as Microsoft Fabric SQL-based workloads, ensuring reliable data movement and strong platform foundations that power analytics, reporting, and business insights.
You’ll work closely with Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Infrastructure teams to maintain high-performing, scalable, and secure data environments, while supporting enterprise-wide data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Data Platform Operations
-
Administer and maintain SQL Server environments (on-premises and Azure) and Microsoft Fabric workloads to ensure availability, security, and performance

Support and maintain foundational Lakehouse architecture (OneLake, medallion/layered models) in alignment with enterprise standards

Monitor and troubleshoot data ingestion processes, including Azure Data Factory and Fabric pipelines

Reliability, Security & Recovery

Execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability

Implement and maintain database security controls (access, encryption, auditing, authentication)

Support compliance initiatives, audit readiness, and risk mitigation efforts

Governance & Platform Standards
-
Enforce data platform standards for schemas, storage formats (e.g., Delta Lake), and data structures

Support metadata management, data lineage, and access controls within Microsoft Fabric
-
Identify and escalate risks related to data integrity, governance, and platform standards

Performance & Capacity Optimization

Monitor database performance, utilization, and capacity across SQL Server and Fabric environment

Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues; partner with Data Engineering on optimization opportunities

Provide recommendations for scaling, capacity planning, and cost optimization

Collaboration & Support

Partner with Data Engineering, BI, and application teams to ensure reliable data consumption and query performance

Serve as an escalation point for database and platform-related issues

Maintain and improve operational documentation, including runbooks, SOPs, and recovery procedures
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of experience administering SQL Server in production environments

Strong expertise in database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security administration

Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and cloud-based data platforms

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting hybrid (on-premises + cloud) database environments

Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and data pipeline monitoring

Exposure to Delta Lake and medallion architecture frameworks

Experience building or supporting database automation and monitoring solutions
