Duties
- Dispense medications accurately while adhering to pharmaceutical regulations and hospital policies
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and review patient-specific medication plans
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate pharmacological therapies
- Manage IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding in critical care settings
- Monitor drug therapy effectiveness, adjust dosages as needed, and document all interventions precisely
- Provide expert consultation on complex cases such as oncology treatments, acute pain management, and emergency interventions
- Precept pharmacy residents and students, fostering the next generation of clinical pharmacists
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and maintain accurate pharmacy information system records
- Participate in hospital committees focused on medication safety, formulary management, and quality improvement initiatives
Experience
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience with a focus on critical care, ICU, or emergency room settings is essential
- Demonstrated expertise in managed care principles and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance
- Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center experience highly preferred
- Experience with pharmacy residency programs or post-residency clinical practice enhances candidacy
- Strong background in medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and pharmacology fundamentals
- Proven ability to perform patient assessments and medication administration across diverse populations including pediatrics and oncology patients
- Familiarity with hospital pharmacy information systems (PIS) and drug regulation standards is required
- Hands-on experience with aseptic techniques for IV infusion preparation and sterile compounding is necessary
- Knowledge of acute care practices such as post-residency acute pain management and emergency response protocols is highly valued
