Job Summary
Robinson Elementary is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher for our 1st Grade classroom. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that fosters a love for learning and supports the social, emotional, and academic development of each student. This full-time position requires a commitment to collaborating with colleagues, engaging with families, and implementing a curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to the diverse learning styles of students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a sense of belonging.
- Assess and monitor student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities through regular updates and conferences.
- Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning experiences.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and trends.
- Uphold school policies and procedures, promoting a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-classroom activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Engage in school-wide initiatives and community events to foster a strong school community and enhance student learning experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a valid teaching license or certification for elementary education is required.
- Previous experience teaching 1st grade or in an elementary school setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and effective instructional strategies for young learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficient in using technology for instructional purposes and classroom management.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
