American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience.

Work in the Medical unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
-
Med/Surg patient population
-
Uses Epic EMR charting system
-
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
36 hours per week over three 12-hour shifts
-
Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
-
Holiday coverage required every other holiday
-
Floating required to similar units
-
Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required

ASN required, BSN preferred
-
Level 1 Trauma experience required
-
Epic EMR charting experience required
-
Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and care plan documentation
-
Receive bedside shift report and validate safe patient room environment at each shift change
-
Delegate and validate patient care tasks assigned to Health Care Technicians
-
Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions
-
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
-
Support timely admission and discharge processes for Observation status patients
-
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
-
RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
