Carpenter Helper (Willing to Learn)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Carpenter's Helper who is eager to learn the restoration and construction trades. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in residential and commercial restoration, remodeling, and general contracting. The Carpenter's Helper will assist skilled carpenters and restoration technicians with a variety of construction, repair, and restoration projects while developing valuable hands-on skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with restoration, remodeling, and repair projects.
- Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials at job sites.
- Prepare work areas by setting up equipment, protecting surfaces, and maintaining a clean job site.
- Perform demolition and debris removal as directed.
- Measure, cut, and install materials under supervision.
- Assist with framing, drywall installation and repair, trim work, painting, flooring, and finish carpentry tasks.
- Help with water, fire, and storm damage restoration projects.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
- Follow company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with team members, customers, and subcontractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous construction experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong desire to learn carpentry, restoration, and general construction skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and job site environments.
- Background check is required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in residential, commercial, and restoration environments that may involve dust, debris, moisture, and varying temperatures.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
