Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, assisting with toileting, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for individuals
- Drive your vehicle and take individuals to appointments, community outings, and other activities as needed
- Document and maintain accurate records of individual progress and daily activities
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure that individuals are treated with dignity and respect
Skills:
- Ability to participate in activities that require walking, standing and being outdoors for extended periods of time
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Experience working with people with dementia- Experience in meal preparation and basic housekeeping tasks
- Familiarity with systems for documenting individual progress and maintaining records

- CPR/ First Aid and 245D Training are preferred, but not required
- You must have the ability to use a computer for documentation and timecards
- You must have a valid driver's license, vehicle that you can use for work and current auto insurance
- You must have the ability to bend, lift, walk and stand for long periods.
