We're looking for an experienced Charge Nurse to lead nursing operations across our Frederick center. This is a hands-on leadership role for an RN who wants real influence over patient care, staff development, and clinical quality — not just a title.
- Monday–Friday, 5:15 AM–1:00 PM
- Occasional Saturday, 6:00–9:00 AM

As Charge Nurse, you'll be the clinical and operational anchor for the nursing team across the Frederick center, balancing hands-on patient care with leadership responsibility.
Clinical Leadership
- Oversee dispensing and nursing operations to ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care
- Guide care planning in collaboration with medical providers and clinical staff
- Step in for direct patient care when needed and monitor outcomes to drive continuous improvement
Medication & Compliance
- Manage medication ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships for the dispensary and OTP patients
- Ensure full compliance with BHA, DEA, COMAR, and CARF standards through regular audits and chart reviews
Team Management
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance recommendations
- Build and maintain schedules that ensure strong coverage and the right skill mix
- Foster a collaborative, supportive team culture and address staffing needs proactively
Cross-Team Collaboration & Strategy
- Partner with the Executive Director, Medical Director, and other leaders on interdisciplinary care and strategic planning
- Identify training needs and create ongoing development opportunities for nursing staff
- Support nursing department budgeting and identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing care quality
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Proven experience as a Charge Nurse or in a similar nursing leadership role
- Strong clinical judgment and up-to-date knowledge of nursing best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
