We are expanding our services to enable our customers to use Diligent as a complete transportation provider. These services include: · Fulltime local and regional dedicated driver leasing positions · Over the Road, LTL, FTL shipments · Domestic and International Freight · Cartage and Small Package / Pallet Network Program, Final Mile and On-Demand Courier services.
The Medical Courier – Hospital Dispatcher is a full-time employee, responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and managing time-critical medical courier deliveries. This position does not involve driving or physical transport. Instead, the specialist serves as a central point of contact for STAT and on-demand requests, ensuring accurate dispatching, real-time tracking, and compliance with healthcare logistics standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Receive, prioritize, and dispatch STAT, on-demand, and routed medical delivery requests
· Coordinate courier assignments to ensure timely and compliant pickups and deliveries
· Monitor active deliveries in real time and proactively resolve delays or issues
· Maintain constant communication with couriers, healthcare facilities, and internal teams
· Accurately enter, update, and manage orders in dispatch and logistics software
· Ensure all deliveries comply with HIPAA, chain-of-custody, and company protocols
· Document delivery confirmations, exceptions, and incident reports
· Escalate urgent or high-risk issues according to established procedures
· Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all communications
· Meet performance standards for response time, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn dispatch and logistics platforms
· Proficiency with email, web-based systems, spreadsheets, and messaging tools
· Reliable high-speed internet connection and dedicated home workspace
· Excellent multitasking, organization, and time-management skills
· Ability to remain calm and effective under STAT and emergency conditions
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in medical courier dispatch, logistics, or transportation coordination
· Familiarity with STAT, on-demand, or healthcare operations
· Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance requirements
· Call center, dispatch, or healthcare coordination experience
Work Environment
· Prolonged periods of computer use and phone communication
· Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with frequent STAT requests
