Duties
- Assist with animal handling, restraint, and behavior management to ensure safety during examinations and procedures
- Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as IV insertion, medication administration, catheterization, and aseptic techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by cleaning kennels, surgical areas, equipment, and treatment rooms in accordance with infection control protocols
- Help with laboratory work including sample collection, processing, and record keeping for diagnostic tests
- Support front desk operations by communicating effectively with clients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records
- Aid in surgical preparation and post-operative recovery under supervision to ensure smooth procedures and optimal animal welfare
Qualifications
- Two years of prior vet assisting experience is required, including kennel or animal handling experience and/or familiarity with dog handling and animal husbandry is a plus
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures
- Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently while adhering to hospital guidelines
- Skilled in animal restraint techniques for canines/felines
- Capable of assisting with surgery preparation and supporting critical care situations involving animals
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; previous front desk or client service experience is desirable

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
