American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring active CA licensure, Trauma Level I experience, and a minimum of 2-3 years of OR experience.

Acute care hospital setting within the Operating Room unit
-
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:45-7:15 with variable start times of 7:00 or 9:00

Weekend work required
-
May be required to cover one night shift within the contract as needed

On-call required, with call distributed equally among nursing staff every 6 weeks (up to 6-8 shifts in a 6-week period, including nights, evenings, and weekends)

Float required between like units as well as to affiliate/sister hospitals nearby

Uses Epic charting system

OR, Endo, L&D, and PACU scrubs provided

Trauma Level I facility
-
Active CA RN license required in hand
-
BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2-3 years of RN Operating Room experience required (5 years preferred)

Trauma Level I experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho surgical experience required

Epic charting system experience required
-
Must provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

Must willing to work 2 of the following 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's

First-time travelers accepted

Local candidates accepted, though a 50-mile radius rule applies for eligibility

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility

RTO must be submitted and included at time of application

Candidates may float between the contracted facility and nearby sister facilities as required

Responsibilities include performing OR nursing duties across surgical specialties such as general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, vascular, urology, gynecology, plastics, ENT, bariatrics, and thoracic procedures

Experience with robotic surgical systems, cell saver, electrosurgical units, and other specialized OR equipment may be utilized

Adherence to emergency management, fire safety, and infection control protocols required
