Medication Cart Nurse (LPN or RN) – Full Time (7p–7a) - Transitional Care Unit

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and dependable Medication Cart Nurse (LPN or RN) on our Transitional Care Unit for 7p-7a. This position is responsible for safe medication administration, basic nursing care, and providing calm, steady support to our residents. You’ll work alongside a supportive team, a hands-on DON/ADON, and CNAs who know their residents well.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete all medication passes accurately and on time for assigned cart
- Provide routine nursing care: treatments, vitals, wound care, simple assessments
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report promptly
- Maintain proper documentation per state, facility, and licensure standards
- Communicate clearly with CNAs, providers, and leadership
- Ensure med cart organization, cleanliness, and restocking
- Follow all safety, infection control, and facility policies
- Offer supportive, respectful interaction with residents and families
- Participate in shift report and hand-off communication
- Respond to emergencies appropriately within scope of practice
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Current Mississippi LPN or RN license (in good standing)
- Long-term care experience preferred but not required
- Strong time-management and ability to work independently
- Must be reliable, patient, and comfortable working with memory care and/or higher-acuity residents
- Ability to lift, bend, and assist residents as needed
- Clear background and drug screen
