Certified Medication Aide (CMA) – Double Weekend Shifts | 6 AM–2 PM & 2 PM–10 PM

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) – PRN, where your expertise will directly enhance the quality of life for our residents. This vital role involves administering medications, supporting patient care, and working closely with nursing staff to ensure safe, compassionate, and personalized care in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. As a PRN (as-needed) position, you’ll have the flexibility to make a meaningful impact while maintaining a dynamic schedule. Your skills in medication administration and patient support will help create a warm, safe environment for those we serve.
Duties
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition support
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and overall health status regularly and document findings precisely in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ conditions, including symptoms related to dementia, Alzheimer’s, or hospice care needs
- Support medication management processes by maintaining accurate medical documentation and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Provide compassionate care tailored to individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in accordance with state regulations
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures
- Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced settings
- Compassionate approach to caregiving with excellent communication skills and patience when working with seniors or individuals with disabilities
