Roll-Off Truck Driver / Scrap Yard Driver
We are looking for a reliable Roll-Off Truck Driver to join our scrap yard team. The driver will be responsible for delivering and picking up roll-off containers, transporting scrap metal.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate roll-off trucks, including front loader, rear loader, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and state transportation regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, focusing on air brake systems, hydraulic functions, lights, tires, and load security to maintain safety standards.
- Drive in compliance with all traffic laws while practicing defensive driving techniques to ensure safety for yourself and others on the road.
- Drop off and pick up roll-off containers
- Load and unload containers as needed
- Transport scrap metal to and from the yard
- Inspect truck before and after each shift
- Secure loads properly
- Keep truck clean and report maintenance issues
- Complete pickup/drop-off paperwork or tickets
- Communicate with yard manager and office staff
- Follow all safety rules and DOT regulations
- Provide good customer service at pickup locations
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial vehicles such as roll-off trucks, garbage trucks (front loader or rear loader), dump trucks, flatbeds or tractor-trailers with manual transmissions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of heavy lifting techniques necessary for handling large METAL OPEN TOP CONTAINERS.
- Familiarity with solid waste management practices including municipal waste collection and hazardous materials regulations.
- Valid CDL license with endorsements for air brakes; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations as well as state transportation laws governing commercial driving.
- Delivery driver experience in a municipal or industrial setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic mechanical troubleshooting; mechanical knowledge is a plus.

Full-time
Day shift
Monday -Friday 7AM-5PM
SATURDAYS 7AM-3PM
Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,200.00 per week
