FTDC is looking for fun-loving, passionate childcare providers and teachers who enjoy making a positive impact in the lives of children and families within our community. We are seeking dependable, nurturing, and energetic individuals who truly care about children, their development, and the families we serve.
The ideal candidate will help oversee the development, safety, care, and nurturing of children while following Washington State licensing requirements and supporting a positive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment
- Supervise and monitor the safety and well-being of children
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum and learning activities
- Encourage creativity, exploration, and social-emotional development
- Introduce basic educational concepts through play and hands-on learning
- Support children’s emotional, social, and developmental growth
- Follow indoor and outdoor schedules and daily routines
- Ensure children receive adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Serve meals and snacks provided for children
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and daily paperwork
- Communicate professionally with parents and team members
- Follow licensing regulations, center policies, USDA guidelines, and daily schedules
- Assist with potty training, meals, transitions, and outdoor activities
- Work collaboratively with staff to create a positive team environment
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working in Early Childhood Education preferred
- STARS Certificate or ability to obtain required training
- Background Clearance through MERIT
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Food Handler Permit
- Up-to-date Immunizations and TB compliance
- Ability to meet Washington State DCYF licensing requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, professional, patient, and nurturing personality
- Passion for early childhood education and child development
