Job Description: Clinician/Therapist
Location: Portsmouth, NH
Department: Clinical Services
Reports To: Clinical Director
Position Summary
The Clinician is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered mental health and substance use disorder treatment through individual and group therapy. This role supports Baypoint Health's mission of promoting recovery, resilience, and overall well-being. The Therapist collaborates with the Treatment Team in the formulation of the Master Treatment Plan and assists in coordinating discharge planning.
Position Requirements/Qualifications
Education:
- Preferred: Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a health-related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a chemical dependency or psychiatric setting.
Licensure/Certification:
- Master’s Degree compliant with State of New Hampshire requirements.
- Must be eligible for LMHC or LCSW
Knowledge and Training Required:
- Principles and practices of the discipline.
- Joint Commission standards.
- Proficiency in communication and written skills.
- State and federal statutes regarding client confidentiality laws.
- Drug-free workplace policies and workplace violence awareness.

Security Measures and Clearance:
- Background check in compliance with current regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
Communication and Collaboration
- Contact clients' emergency contacts within 24 hours of admission.
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary treatment plan meetings.
- Share relevant information from families or other sources with the team.
- Attend daily and weekly staffing meetings as scheduled.
- Evaluate therapeutic interventions’ impact on the therapeutic environment.
Therapy and Intervention
- Facilitate group therapy.
- Provide individual therapy
- Recognize and respond to psychiatric crises, providing appropriate interventions.
- Assist in medical emergencies as directed.
Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Document client progress/regress and interventions in the medical record.
- Conduct weekly chart audits for internal caseload.
- Maintain insurance review documentation and utilize UR notes effectively.
Education and Compliance
- Adhere to policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in monthly program staff meetings.
Safety and Risk Management
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety plans as needed.
- Participate in agency safety drills and comply with emergency protocols.
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Supervisor.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
