Duties
- Manage patient appointments by scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming visits using patient management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Serve as the first point of contact via phone and client communication channels, providing friendly and efficient assistance to patients and visitors
- Collect and verify patient information, ensuring accuracy and maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with health regulation policies
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as data entry, insurance verification, and document processing using Microsoft Office tools
- Educate patients on health insurance policies, billing procedures, and clinic protocols to enhance their understanding and comfort
- Coordinate with clinical staff to prepare patient charts, update electronic health records (EHR), and facilitate smooth clinic operations
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and health regulation policies to ensure compliance and effective communication
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment is highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook for administrative tasks
- Familiarity with patient management software and EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records effectively
- Strong understanding of health insurance processes, billing procedures, and relevant regulations
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person
- Knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical information
- Experience maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA or equivalent standards
- Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced office setting with attention to detail in typing and data entry tasks
