Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to serve as a Charge Nurse within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate nursing activities efficiently. As a Charge Nurse, you will oversee daily clinical operations, ensure high-quality patient care, and support staff in delivering compassionate and effective services. Duties
- Supervise nursing staff during shifts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Oversee medication administration, including injections, IV infusions, and other treatments in accordance with physician orders and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Assist in discharge planning, patient education, and coordination of post-acute care services for individuals with complex needs.
- Monitor for signs of acute pain or infection, implementing appropriate interventions and escalating concerns as necessary.
- Facilitate communication between multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and social workers to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Critical care experience preferred, including ICU or emergency room settings; experience in long-term care or assisted living is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology necessary for comprehensive patient assessment.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s), memory care, or behavioral health populations.
- Ability to perform advanced nursing procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile techniques.
