Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role requires a passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a kitchen team. The Line Cook/Prep Cook will ensure that all food is prepared according to our established recipes and standards while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices.
- Cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times.
- Assist in menu planning and development as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in food handling and preparation techniques.
- Experience working in the food industry or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of meal preparation processes and dietary needs.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen setting while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Knowledge of menu planning and dietary department practices is a plus.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and cleanliness.
