Our client is a long-established Texas contractor with a dedicated technology division supporting large commercial construction projects throughout the state. Their teams install the communications infrastructure that powers office buildings, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, Datacenters and other commercial environments.
They're seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Technician who can work independently, produce quality installations, and help drive projects toward completion.
Your role with the company:
- Install, route, support, and professionally dress CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling in commercial and industrial environments while maintaining a clean and organized installation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and telecommunications drawings to determine cable pathways, device locations, and installation requirements.
- Complete workstation installations by terminating data outlets, installing faceplates and keystone jacks, labeling connections, and testing each drop for proper functionality.
- Terminate patch panels, build rack elevations, and organize network racks according to project specifications and industry best practices.
- Build, organize, and maintain MDF and IDF telecommunications rooms while ensuring proper cable routing and equipment layout.
- Install ladder racks, cable trays, J-hooks, and vertical and horizontal cable management systems to properly support structured cabling infrastructure.
- Organize and dress cable bundles to meet company standards, customer expectations, and industry best practices for quality workmanship.
- Apply accurate cable labeling and maintain compliance with TIA/EIA standards throughout every phase of the installation process.
Basic Requirement:
- 1+ years of commercial structured cabling experience
- Strong experience with workstation terminations and patch panel terminations
- Experience working in MDF and IDF closets
- Knowledge of TIA/EIA structured cabling standards
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
