In this position the CT Technologist provides patient services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician, performs radiologic and other related imaging procedures, producing images for interpretation by a physician, and apply principles of radiation protection. The CT Technologist will evaluate radiographs for technical quality, and exercise professional judgement in the performance of procedures.

Performs diagnostic radiographic services

Operates imaging equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate

Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to the patient, self, and others

Evaluates radiography for technical quality and patient identification.

Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs patients during procedures

Administers or assists with administration of contrast media, as required.

Assists physician with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures

Ensures proper documentation

Performs quality control checks as required.

Maintains accurate patient records and files with confidentiality, performing all PACs functions

Assumes responsibility for portions of department QA/QI program

Supervises, assists, instructs, and communicates effectively with radiology students
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of accredited Radiography school

Current WI Radiographer license and ARRT Certification
-
CT Certification preferred upon hire (required within one year of training completion)

CPR certification within 90 days

Keeps personal medical information about patients confidential
