Rex Nova Transportation is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Supervisor to oversee daily transportation operations at our Aurora, Colorado terminal. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time operations while supporting drivers, dispatch, and terminal personnel.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced transportation environment, is committed to safety and operational excellence, and is willing to lead by example. This position requires someone who can effectively manage people, solve operational challenges, and step in to assist with route coverage when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily transportation and terminal operations.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and support drivers and operations personnel.
- Monitor route performance and ensure all deliveries are completed safely and on time.
- Coordinate daily operations with dispatch, maintenance, recruiting, and management.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety regulations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement process improvements.
- Review and approve employee timecards.
- Conduct driver coaching, safety observations, road tests, and performance evaluations.
- Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, and equipment readiness.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Prepare operational reports and communicate performance updates to leadership.
- Step in to operate company routes when business needs require.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL required.
- Previous transportation management, logistics, or fleet operations experience.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Computer proficient with the ability to learn company software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Willing to train and operate delivery routes when necessary.
- Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, DOT physical (if applicable), and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
