Job Summary
GoldPointe Academy is seeking knowledgeable, engaging, and student-focused Course Instructors to teach high school students preparing for college admissions and advanced academic coursework in one-on-one or boutique class setting. We are currently hiring instructors in subjects including English (SAT, ACT, Literature, etc), AP STEM Courses (Calculus, Physics, Biology, Chemistry) and other college-preparation courses.
Instructors will be responsible for delivering structured and interactive lessons, explaining complex concepts clearly, evaluating student performance, and providing individualized feedback to support students’ academic growth. The ideal candidate has strong subject-matter expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt instruction to students with different learning styles and proficiency levels.
Instructors will also collaborate with GoldPointe Academy’s academic and operations teams to monitor student progress, improve course materials, and maintain a positive and effective learning environment. This position is well suited for educators who are passionate about helping high school students strengthen their academic skills, improve standardized test performance, and prepare for successful college applications.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in assigned subjects as the complement of high-school classes.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, practice exercises, and assessments aligned with course objectives and exam requirements.
- Explain complex concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, academic levels, and student needs.
- Evaluate students’ strengths, weaknesses, and progress through assignments, quizzes, mock exams, and classroom participation.
- Teach effective problem-solving, time-management, and exam strategies relevant to standardized tests and AP exams.
- Communicate student progress, concerns, and recommended next steps to the academic and operations teams.
- Stay informed about updates to standardized exams, AP curricula, scoring standards, and relevant educational practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in high school tutoring or higher.
- Candidates who are proficient in any of these disciplines are welcome to apply: English teaching (high school literature, SAT, AP Language & Composition, AP English & Literature, AP U.S. History/World History, general English); AP/High-School STEM (Mathematics, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds while maintaining high standards of academic excellence.
- Must be proficient in English. Proficiency in Chinese is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- On-site working.
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
