Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts to support efficient warehouse distribution, shipping, and receiving operations. This role requires a strong understanding of materials handling, safety protocols, and warehouse management systems. Candidates with warehouse experience, forklift certification, and knowledge of OSHA standards are required. Duties
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to load and unload materials
- Pick and pack orders accurately using RF scanners and warehouse management systems
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling of materials including heavy lifting tasks
- Assist in shipping & receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing goods
- Move materials within the warehouse using pallet jacks and other mechanical tools
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
- Support warehouse supervision in managing inventory levels and order fulfillment tasks
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting
- Warehouse distribution or materials handling experience preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more)
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse operations
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols precisely
- Valid certification for forklift operation is highly desirable; OSHA certification is a plus
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or order picking roles is advantageous
