American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a GI/Endoscopy position in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of endoscopy experience and active Epic proficiency.

Endoscopy unit covering both outpatient and inpatient hospital endoscopy locations on the same campus
-
Up to 9 procedure rooms with 36 pre/post bays/beds
-
Patient population includes both inpatient and outpatient cases across all age groups

Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2
-
Averages 18–21 procedures per room per physician per shift

Equipment includes Olympus Scopes, ERBE, video/fiberoptic endoscopic systems, fluoroscopy, IV pumps, and patient monitoring equipment

EMR systems: Epic (required) and Provation
-
Day shift, 5x8 schedule, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM; 2–3 late days per week based on recovery/procedure census

Weekend requirement: up to one weekend per 6-week schedule period

Call requirement: 4–7 call days per 6-week schedule, 2 of which fall over a weekend

Active RN license in Missouri or compact license meeting eligibility for Missouri licensure

Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA only; no expiring certifications within the first 30 days of assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled

Minimum 1 year of recent endoscopy experience

Proficiency in Epic within the past year required

Experience with procedure room documentation, charting, patient turnover, and moderate/conscious sedation
-
Basic dysrhythmia knowledge required

Ability to work with fluoroscopy
-
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; ability to lift/push/pull up to 40–50 lbs; grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 10 lbs; perform low-positioned work (kneel, crouch, crawl) minimally

Valid U.S. Social Security Number required

No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months

Must be available to start within 4 weeks

Responsibilities include direct patient care (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) for patients of all age groups

Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient flow and comfort

Requires strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with physicians and staff; experience with delicate endoscopic instruments is essential

Fast-paced, teamwork-driven environment

Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1–April 1; declinations are not accepted

CGRN certification is recommended within 2 years of hire but is not required for consideration

Black or facility-provided surgical scrubs required; no other attire is acceptable
-
RTO of up to 5 days allowed per assignment; any time off must be made up before the end of the contract

Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate and a limit of 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this location; after 3 consecutive contracts, a 1-year separation or transfer outside the 50-mile radius is required before returning
